Technical Institute of Preparation and Training

Developing the skills of the young women and men of Lebanon in order to provide them with a better future.

The association introduced the child caregiver training and diploma in 1980 and the nurse aid training program in 1984. In 2018, the programs were updated and were following the official governmental guidelines, hence the association was able to present the graduates with either a Professional Baccalaureate (BP) or a Technical Baccalaureate (BT). The programs fall under the Technical Institute of Preparation and Training with the aim of developing the skills of the young women and men of Lebanon in order to provide them with a better future.

A. Professional Baccalaureate (BP)

1- Nurse Aid Program

Duration of diploma:

  • Two years: For those who passed the eighth grade and those who fail in the ninth grade (Brevet)
  • One Year: For those who passed the official exams for the ninth grade (Brevet)

The program includes both theoretical and practical study.

  • Theoretical study: includes nursing subjects, in addition to Arabic language, foreign language, informatics, general mathematics, sociology, professional behavior, professional ethics, health science, dietetics, and patient psychology.
  •  Practical study: includes practical training in the hospital in the departments of surgery, internal diseases, hemodialysis, emergency, intensive care, obstetrics and gynecology, and the departments of neonatology and children.

2- Child Care

Duration of diploma: two years for those who passed the eighth grade.

The program includes three sections:

  • General Education: including Arabic and foreign languages, social sciences, and informatics.
  • Specialized theoretical education: including subjects in child psychology, nutrition science, kindergarten education, and mathematics and children’s literature.
  • Specialized practical education: including learning through play, arts and crafts, theater, music and singing, kinetic education, and practical training in preschools and kindergartens.

B- Technical Baccalaureate (BT)

1-Nursing care

Duration of diploma: three years for those who passed the Brevet official exams and those who passed official Nurse aid exams.

The program includes both theoretical and practical study.

  • Theoretical study: includes nursing subjects, in addition to Arabic language, first and second foreign language courses, informatics, general mathematics, sociology, professional behavior, professional ethics, collective health science, social sciences, first aid, psychology (clinical, mental health, and gerontology), nutrition science and pharmacology.
  • Practical study: includes practical training in the hospital in the departments: surgery, internal diseases, hemodialysis, emergency, intensive care, cardiac intensive care, obstetrics, gynecology, and neonatal and pediatrics departments.

2- Kindergarten Education

Duration of diploma: three years for those who passed the Brevet official exams and those who passed official Child Care exams.

The program includes two sections:

  • General Education: including subjects in Arabic and foreign languages, social sciences, informatics, mathematics, and general sciences.
  • Specialized theoretical and practical education: including child psychology, nutrition science, education in kindergarten, history of educational currents, children’s literature, plastic arts, theater and puppets, music and singing, kinetic education and practical training in kindergartens and schools.

The Child and Mother Welfare Association grants a specialist certificate “Working with the Child -Caregiver”, which is an intensive program for one academic year.
